Library Science
Few things have brought pure joy, or as many applicable skills, to my life and career as Library Science.
While my career has meandered from the path of librarianship at this time, it is a profession I still keep near and dear to my heart at all times.
Degrees & Certifications
After attaining a Bachelor's of Art in Criminal Justice, and later a Masters in Library Science, I've continued my education throughout my professional career, and have constantly expanded my range of skills to fit my evolving career path.
Most recently, I've finished both a Usability Research certification and a Usability Research Specialty certification from the Nielsen Norman Group.
Houston Metropolitan Research Center
I was both fortunate and grateful to have been chosen for this prized internship and follow-on work at the HMRC.
With the utmost white-glove care and meticulousness I was entrusted to diligently access, research, and most importantly make additions to the collection. I managed archival processing of materials end-to-end from ingest to database metadata tagging and categorization.
Clayton Center for Genealogical Research
Even before finishing my Masters degree, I was promoted to a position within the Houston Public Library system to began working at the Clayton Library Center as an outreach librarian and technology specialist.
My time at Clayton ultimately led to branching into the technology of the changing libraries in this country. I worked with management to spearhead multiple new programs ranging from digital archival initiatives to technology education for our patrons.
